Hey, I am new to the P2L forums, and to PHP. I want to create a custom PHP CMS I guess similar to this one:
http://www.isgodly.com/asC/
login: test
pass: test
that is a demo of a frieds. Basically I am looking for the same features when you add files and matches for games it appears in the correct section on the index page. Admin/User Login/News Poster/Add Members to a team/Remove/User Profiles/Add Media/Add Matches. I made a site for a counter-strike clan using Invision Board to post the news on the home page. But I want to learn how to make this, my own CMS and forums. I found many tutorials online for usersystems and news posting systems, but is there anything that can teach me how to do it all in one. Do any of you guys have any good resources or suggestions on how I should go about this? What exactly is all this called, anything more than a CMS?
Thanks,
Danny

I would recommend purchasing a book that explains php and mysql in one book. Thats about as close as you will get.

building a cms like that is not something you do 'overnight' while following a tutorial, you wont find any tutorials or scripts that covers exactly what you want. Learning php its a long process of trial and error, but when finally something good comes out, it feels good
Good luck if your going to give it a try

Thanks for the input so far guys. I appreciate the time you took to find me sone links, I am in college now for Graphic Design and Animation, unfortuantley PHP class isn't for another like 3 months =/ I took a computer programming with Visual Basic and Java 2 years in High School, so I recognize some small things in PHP that look fimiliar to Java.

Yeah I am the most advanced in my class right now as well, because I have been designing and doing websites for years now. I just never got in to PHP more than basic includes. But I want to advance my skills and learn PHP inside and out then work on MySQL (only basic knowledge aswell, creating tables with PHPAdmin and making Databases) Anyone have any good resources for this, or any video tutorials or books that come with CDRoms for exercises? I am a visual learner =/

I reccomend that you do some basci stuff first, learn PHP then try, cause even if you follow a tut to make one if something doesnt work you will have no background knowlage of PHP so you wont be able to make sense of the code.

I agree with everybody else try learning the basics of PHP then work your way up so that you can do that. There might be some tutorials out there that could help build that system but if you just copy and past you won't really know what it's doing and how to customize it.
