Hey guys, I'm a Mac guy, and I use Transmit.

While I'm at work (Windows land) I need to access my site via ftp. I can't for the life of me

a) find an ftp program that works, and
B ) one that will actually allow me to open, edit, save my files... (mostly for css trouble shooting cross/browser)
c) oh and free...

All I need it to do, is connect, open, and save. And do it easily... ;)

Why is it IE returns stuff like squares and strange characters when I view source from any page? or open a css/html file via the XP ftp way?

But what is stranger in typical windows style, is pasting that "junk" into this forum, comes out perfect nice css...

Thanks guys, I will give those a shot, see what happens.

Ah thank you so much man, Filezilla works great. Sure I had to set-up a default program of Notepad for some reason to open stuff, but I can live with that ;)

Cheers. Thanks

I don't USE IE, but i HAVE to design with it, just the way it is :)

Hey Filezilla... say I open a file, hit cntrl-s, it saves, but it only updates on my server upon closing the file and clicking 'yes' to do you want to update the server...

I don't want to have to close and re-open the file everytime I want to test/make a change... suggestions?

Ok, if I want to keep my css file open. Make a change, then save it, and keep it open. I go to Opera say (Fire fox in your case :) ) , and reload my site... nothing changes.

To make it change to what I just saved, I have to close the css file, in turn i will get a pop up box saying... "file:changed etc... do you want to upload it to the server?" and I have to click yes everytime, then re-open the file to continue working on it.
