Hi everyone,

I am interesting learning how to create motion graphics at flash
like what this guys did http://fakepilot.com...americanneedle/
and this company http://www.bigspaceship.com/

anyway, I am newbie with flash.
I just now how to make some simple basic website with flash and basic action script but I have background
with XHTML,CSS,PHP, and my SQL
also, some background with after effects

I am just wondering from where I should start learning if I want to make motion graphics at flash?
I took some action script class before but I am seriously couldn't understand what the hell is my teacher talking about.

Any book for recomendation? I mean the one that easy to read for beginner like me :)

I never buy books myself, but thats prob just me. Every time that i start on something new i hit the beginners tutorials, preferebly a "how to make this wicked effect" tutorial. I follow it and i learn along the way. The things you se on the websites you posted are some heavy animation. Its a mix of animated images (like animated gifs basicly), images just flying across the viewport and music to match, neatly puzzeled together and created all in different ways. But there are a tutorial for every effect and when you know how to make em you find a tut on how to puzzle em together. And when your intro is finnished you find a tut on how to make a flash web interface. And at some point in time you wont need the tutorials no more. Be creative and find your style and what works for you! :)

The best AS animation book out there!!!

BigSpaceShip works mostly with AfterEffects movies, converted to an flv, and then animated with Actionscript..

Get your hands on AfterEffects and learn actioscript.

thanks guys for the advice :P

Funkysoul, I was thingking want to buy that books along side with the foundation of action script because
when I read it then I think its complicated for beginner like me.
is that enough? because I really want t have solid foundation.

I tried to animate few things and tried build my website in one hour (result: www.rio-p.com) using tween but still I feel the movement kind of robotic. I want to learn how to control the speed, flash video, etc
but importantly, I want to learn the logic too so I can apply it for make the web more interactive :)

Foundation Actionscript is also a good book to begin with.. in case you are a beginner-intermediate in AS.
Should fit very well with the animation book.
