Yeah, I'm going to throw out a question here about a domain name. But don't worry, it doesn't involve asking for people to come up with one. My question is more about what the domain could be. I was tossing around idea after idea, and I really don't have time to create a super big online organization, but I would like a domain that works for what I need. How does everyone feel about using your name as the domain? If the site is just going to be some freelance work, a portfolio, and some christian resources, do you think my name would be good enough for the domain, or would I need something fancy or 'cool?'

I don't know if you can understand what I'm trying to ask, but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

;)

for a protfolio your name is usually fine but for a company it may not be, I am not saying its a bad thing to have a company named after you it just may not sound the greatest.

Not exactly a company, it will really just be my portfolio and my work.

I really don't see the need in creating a "company" with the whole name and slogan deal if its just gonna be me. Anyone agree? Just trying to get feedback here.

I was just saying that in general, it wasn't really directed at your project.

If it's not for an established company, using your name works well. The thing that's great about using your name is you can use the domain for anything you want.

If you get something like "BobsDesigns.com," and you decide to stop making designs, the domain name becomes pretty much useless. If you just use your name, though, the domain is relevant to whatever you do.
