My old model, getting some funky tests done to it before I start on some other stuff.

creating blend shapes for my latest creation, he/she/it is called medium, was created from a concept I found on CGtalk called mope bot I think. Fantastic image, I loved the style and had to have a go myself :D
Attached File  Animationstart.jpg   24.01KB   271 downloads

Then I was playing with the character, and through a series of unknown events lost my face blend shapes :( , noticed to late to ctrl-z right back, o well. I made allot of fixes with it so its alright I guess. Also means I can practice more.
Attached File  Show1.jpg   79.35KB   152 downloads

Getting emotion into a character without a mouth is tricky, happy and sad are harder than normal, specially happy, as my character lacks enough loops to create a proper crease for the happiness, I may have to have a look into texturing him then using texture blending, which looks o so cool ;)
Current time on medium - 3 days... today was playing and rigging, then deleting the rig, and modeling, then noticing blend shapes gone.. then crying, then modeling
post pro in photoshop.

Thank you for looking ^_^

Wow you are really good.

The ship reminds me of the Subspace/Continuum Ship Leviathon.
The character is awesome!

I hate rigging, Ive had so many problems with it :( its probably the least fun thing in modeling as far as my knowledge goes with 3d. Even in 3dsMax its not fun :(

Keep up the cool stuff you are creative guy, the smoothing on that characters face is virtually flawless!

Thanks for the nice comments, will look into the leviathon cos i am looking to make more in that style as i like the lines it has.
Xsi has a nifty auto rigging tool :(.. set up the "guide" and then tell it to make it, pick some options for the rig and attach and voila :(... also doesnt take much cleanup saving me about 2 hours lol.

Texturing is what i find most boring, getting dirty with it anyway so proper skin and stuff, i just cant do... so i leave it and make another model :P.
at some point i need to transfer the head at the top of the thread minus the stuff stuck on it, and start creating blend morphs and a full body + rig.
:P all of this to create an animation for next year /;) - involving a turtle, an eagle, a jumbo jet and a motorway.

Edit-

rigged and weighted currently fixing the hands weighting as it is all messed up. Attached File  Show2.jpg   63.54KB   178 downloads

;) Finally, something half way decent!!!
had a slump, cleaning up the mesh on the old model was taking a while, the rig on my robot is alright, the fingers are causing some problems in the rig :( but its easy to fix, will just take a while!

Here is my first model for my new project, is meant to be an eagle, but ended up looking like a dam pigeon
i hope u like my pigeon :(

My skills at creating tutorial are pretty poor, I am not very good at getting the desired message across, and people always seem to get lost. Also to make tutorials and have the submitted here for the program I am using would require a new tutorial category called softimage xsi "COUGH COUGH" ^_^ sry, there's a bug going round....

For the next model in my animation project I will set up a Wip .gif like i did with my cyborg thing :P, then you can see how I built it up, it might help u guys out :D
Still a beginner at creating the shapes tho, thats why my stuff gets tweaked so much as its made :)
Edit - Here is that cyborg thing, an early model :P
