every time i click on a tut link it opens up a new tab or window with a blank page saying its a 1x1 gif, i dont think its my browser, i tried both ff and ie.

Have you tried more than one tutorial? It may just be a dead one as it is working fine for me. (tried the first 3 on the index)

If you using Firefox check to see you plugins in your browser are causing it, disable them all and enable one at a time.
