Render -> Render Settings
Adjust the size, resolution and other stuff. But most importantly, the save path. (Under "Save", check "Save Image" then select QuickTime movie and choose where it should be saved.

Once you done that, close the Render Settings and hit the "Render to Picture Viewer" button or Render -> Render to Picture Viewer

Okay now I did all of thoes things, but when i hit the render it it just comes up the thing im watching, as a picture (if I use AVI, only "big movie" the others react like quicktime) and it says "unable to write file" (if i use any of the quicktime) could it have something to do with that I havn't got Quicktime?

And yeah, I would really like to be able to use this in a movie editor program (Vegas) and I don't think it can read Quicktime movies?

Quicktime is the best export format for 3D animations. And yes its fully compatible with Vegas (this is what I use btw).

I use the QuickTime Movie format with quality set to 68 (no need to set it at 100, you will never see the difference..., 68 is more than enough)

In your active viewport, select Views > Camera 1 (or the name you set)
