Request for a line tool tutorial please!

could someone PLEASE do a tut on using the line tool,how to make lines of different size and opacity like the lines in this sig,please explain clearly i'm a noob.anyway T.I.A.

Already start with drawing rectangle selections, copy, make new layer paste in layer and then change layer mode to lighten, or multiply etc...
changing the opacity a bit...
experiment.
Someone will come along and give you more details.
What happened there could easily be: new layer, making rectangle selection, fill it with color (light, dark, light darkk, etc...) and just changing the opacity. But the prvious mlethod usually gives better results.
