hi, i am making a web layout and when i switched the design from photoshop to fireworks, it lost its pattern overlay effect i applied to it in photoshop, my question is, how do i apply this effect in Fireworks? thanks

If you're in Photoshop, crop your pattern down to size and save it as a gif or jpg. Then in Fireworks, click on the object you want to fill with the pattern. At the bottom on the Properties panel, you'll see a Fill Options drop down. Click on it, choose Patterns, and then scroll to Other. Choose the image you just saved from Photoshop and it should be applied to your object.

You could also design the pattern within Fireworks too.
