Hi, I recently posted some tutorials from my site, Axhibition.com, and they were declined. I would hate to be a nuisance because I realize you guys have enough to do on this site, but I would just like to know why the tutorials got rejected for future reference and maybe to resubmit them with fixes? They aren't duplicates or anything, and the links are just fine (actually one is a dupe but it's on a more updated version of the software and its more in depth)

Links:
How to Make a Bathroom Sink with Flowing Water
The Vertigo Effect

Thanks

Hello BeaverElfeater, neither myself or Dan could view your tutorials. Dunno what format your using but suggest you use something the majority of web viewers use so we can at least see it to review.

If you have further questions please direct them straight to Dan either via message or use the contact page.

Did you enter your email in the email field when you submitted your tutorials? You should have received the reason for the decline. Oh and as Donna stated, anyone I asked to look just got a blank Quicktime window with audio working only.

Thanks,
Dan

Ahhh I see, I using a very widely known quicktime codec called "Techsmith Ensharpen". If i provided a direct download link on every tutorial page for the codec would my tutorials have a better chance?

And I never got the e-mail, I'm sure it wasn't you though, my email always gives me problems.

Well I have a funny feeling that some ppl are not getting the decline emails, so I'm going to test this out a bit. Do you have MSN or AIM? If so, can you PM me that info?

As for the codec, you should really think about using a standard codec because you're going to confuse a lot of people when they get a blank screen. I will accept it if you have a big warning about the codec and a link to it, but bear in mind your visitors will probably leave if they have to start playing with plugins.

Thanks
Dan

As a note, there are some contentious issues with versions of quicktime having bigger issues with codecs than others; i know for example that 7.0 brought along a lot of problems for some people while none for others, personally i keep an older version of quicktime to be on the safe side. I'd advise encoding in sorenson.
