Found a flaw in IPB Boards thanks to syntex's post!
If you change someones username, and someone quotes them it will show their old username as the person being quoted

A new version of IPB is coming out in the next few days. It might be fixed in that version

IPB has always had that it only quotes your original username.

If you test quoting someone, it will come us as [*quote=username*] or something like that. You could fix that with a [*quote=userid*] and then selecting their details from the database, but that will slow down the forums.

Wait, yeah...it's not a bug, my bad.
Considering the posts don't use any info from the database and what not, it's not possible for them to dynamically update the info, unless you do what darkstone said, but even then it's probably not worth it. There wouldn't be too much of a time lag, but it's not really a major problem unless your changing your name a lot.

ooo I see now, it's display name not username. It would only change username if an admin changes it...didn't know you allowed display name to be changed.
