I'm designing a web page in Flash, here.

In Firefox (Firefox 2) the page slows down the computer so much so that sometimes Firefox or the computer crashes. The strange thing is that in Explorer everything is fine, theres no problems at all.

Could it be a bug in the Flash plug in for Firefox or something?

Thanks in advance :)

Thanks Donna,

I just tried it on another computer that still has Firefox 1.5 and it was fine. I'll try updating Flash Player, but I'm pretty sure I have the latest.

I suppose if other people say it loads fine then I think it's safe for me to make it public. I was just worried that people would give up on waiting for it to load.

Thanks again

So I'm not the only one who listens to Dream Theater! Anyway, I think I know why it's running slowly. It's your mp3 player. I't does run slowly in IE. If you test it, when you're not playing a song, your frame rate runs normally. When a song is loading/playing, it runs at about a quarter the speed. I'm not saying ditch the mp3 player, but I dont know a way around it.

lol, thats because I haven't uploaded them all yet. But thanks for checking it out for me
I think I'm pretty safe in putting it up... It must be something with my computer *shrugs*. I might switch back to Firefox 1.5 'till the next update for 2.

Thanks for your great tutorial on how to make the music player BTW Funky

hey man, no problem..

Kind of weird though, I didn't build the player upon my mood.. I mean it has been tested on over 8 different configurations and setups.. and I've never heard of someone saying that the player is slowing down the website..

Well anyhow.. happy that you liked it

I don't think its the player Funky, because I went to the player by its self, it worked fine with no lag at all. I did the same with the other Shockwave file and that was fine too :P

It's just when they're both together that they lag (for me anyway).

Hopefully when I upload all the songs it will cut down some of the lag a bit more, but if no one else seems to notice much then I suppose its OK.

Thanks everyone for your help and input :)
