Right nice and simple, tell us about the best gig or concert you went to! Mine:

Was earlier this year, around summer time, and it was Alter Bridge with Shinedown supporting. I have never been to a better gig before ever, shinedown could have done a little less talking and more playing songs. They played I dare you, a few others and finished it off with 'Save Me', which they called 'Jump in the water' for some strange reason but the crowd went mental. They have an amazing singer and some amazing songs, really worth checking them out!

Then we had another support band on called Bif Naked, wern't that good to be honest. But the best part was Alter Bridge. Did some brilliant songs like 'Open your eyes' and 'Broken Wings' which the whole crowd sang along to. Played some new songs which sounded great (new album in spring 07!!!!) Really got the crowd going playing a great mix of songs.

All in all, was a brilliant evening and wish too experiance it again as they are for sure my fav bands!

Matt

My fave gig depends on how bad I feel the next day.
So my favorite so far defintly has to be Mudvayne.
Omg when they playd Determined so many people got dragged out of the show for being knocked unconscious. I was thrown into the death circle and had to face a 6ft3 lanky bastard that screwed me up pretty bad.

Now im waiting for Slipknot so I can actually get killed.

Shows I have been to:
The Rabble(NZ), The Bleeders(NZ), Rise Against, Big Day Out 2004/2006, Disturbed, Mudvayne(above), Rancid, Lars Fredriksen and the Bastards(Both in L.A) and a few more smaller gigs for charity etc.

Not been to many MAJOR gigs, only local bands etc.

But I am more of a UK Hip Hop fan myself..

When I was into rock music I used to go to the MANIC STRIP, was awesome, loads of local kids who wernt half bad, everyone just moshing out.. I got hit in the lip, then thrown out of the mosh pit for breaking a kids nose and dislocating another guys jaw. I think i also hit a girl in the stomach lol.

All in all was pretty wild..

Next gig to go to is: Jay Z, N-Dubz, local artists (Vapour).

Oasis at Knebworth, absolutely groundbreaking. Also Oasis at Manchester 2005, superb.

Lol I don't think I'm into any of the type of music that's been posted here so far.

The only real gig I've been to (apart from Battle of the Bands) is the U2 concert in Sydney 2006 - Now that, my friends, was amazing. Even though it was raining for the first 5 or so songs, the crowd was like none I had ever seen before. Well and truly around 70,000-80,000 people there. And that was only the first night in Sydney out of the three.

In a wrap, U2 was unbelievably unimaginable... if that's even a word/phrase

PS: They played every song of theirs that I love... well, most of them. In all they played around 20-23 songs.

no, it would not be a rave, lol... a gathering... raves are old skool.. but then i guess if u are from somewhere else they may still get called that... in uk raves are players of HARD music nowdays... trance is quite ambient and relaxin :)

Last year, for Christmas, the USO had a concert with Darryl Worley. It was darn awesome there because it was on Christmas Eve and it was like 70 degrees so it brought some home memories to the sandbox. That had to be one of my best concerts.

So far the best I've been to is Journey/Def Leppard this past August. Both bands kicked ass and played all their best songs.

But in a couple of weeks I'm going to see Black Label Society with a few friends and that concert should be f**king amazing. Not only is Zakk Wylde god, but it's also on December 8th, the day Dimebag Darrell of Pantera died, so it should kick ass. I can't wait for In This River.

I also want to see Megadeth on their next tour. That would be cool. And I heard Black Sabbath is going to be touring late next year. I would kill to see that concert.

Most certainly Ozzfest, especially in 2000, considering I was backstage to meet Incubus and a number of other amazing bands (including Dimebag Darrell - RIP). Although I'd been backstage at all the Ozzfests I went to, that one was the best because I got to hang out on a few tour buses. :)
