the news report is funny... simply cause its such an over-reaction

i mean, if someone wants some privacy online whats the bloody problem? if im having a conversation with someone about something personal on MSN, and a parent/brother/sister walks in the room ill close the box. how is that different than writing something like 'p911' just to make sure a mate doesnt send you 'dude i tapped your mum last night!' while shes standing behind you!? if my mum asked to read my conversations like that lads in the video id tell her to pish off.

and are young children really stupid enough nowadays to go meet up with random people theyve known for a few hours, knowing full well that they could be peadophiles?!

even though i despise l33t speak and people who use it, i do replace letters with numbers when emailing friends from my work email though, just to try get past the email filter if im using certain words.

but imo a more serious problem - what happens if children start writing l33t speak on thier exams and in school instead of using english?

we could literally have millions of derranged l33t speaker running around saying stupid things like 'im g0nn4 pwn you and r0x0rz your sisters world!'.

When I was growing up, if I wanted privacy I'd have to move out and get my own PC. If I told my dad to piss off if he asked to see what I was doing on a PC under his roof, I would have gotten a slap upside the head and the PC would be decorating the front street in several hundred pieces.

Yeah, it's the same with me, I guess. Although, I'm using a crap laptop at the moment because my computer's motherboard died. So, it takes forever and a day to load a webpage, let alone trying to start MSN Messenger :D

Okay then, let's look at this from another perspective, shall we?

I'm assuming that quite a few of the people here are parents or will soon become one. Now, does it bother you if you heard this ad or that you heard from someone else that your children are trying to keep their lives away from you? To me, I kind of understand what the problem could be. But yeah, I do think they are over reacting with this ad. Nonetheless, what do you people think? I mean, I'm not married or anything yet but kids are known to do stupid things so I could be concerned a bit.

lol I minimize the screen if speaking with Faken and I have guests here and he's in one of those rages, never ever message him when his hockey/football team has just lost a game.
