Hello

has anyone got a wacom tablet?

I have just purchased one as i fancied using it to create vector drawings and thought that this would be an easier method as i could just draw ontop of the photo.

Well i seemed to be wrong, i cant get the image to line up on the screen with what i am drawing on the tablet.

So i was wonderg if any other tablets users could offer me any advice? are there any guides around to help with my problem?

any help would be great thanks

Hi

i had a look at whats was on the wacom site but they were just tutorials that could be found on here.

What i really want is something that tells me about using the pen and how i line up stuff with what i draw on the tablet to the images on the screen.

thanks

You got a cd with the tablet right? Have you installed the content on that cd, coz it contains drivers and settup programs, if you have you can acces thease via your control panel as "wacom tablet properties". There you can set up drawing area, pressure sensitivity and other things and individual settings for different apps.

Not quite sure what you mean by "lining up". But the pen should work just like a mouse. Except that you do not actually touch the pen to the tablet. The pen is move over the tablet with outwith touching it. You only touch the pen to the table when you want to "drag" and "drop" something.

I have a Wacom tablet and I liked it so much that I had even blogged about it.

You can change the size of the work space the tablet represents on the screen. When I use mine in photoshop I have it setup so the tablet fits the size of the canvas im using. You should be able to change the settings for different programs in the tablet's control panel.

Otherwise it just takes some getting used to, I know it took me a couple weeks to get comfortable with it.

Ive heard some people will tape a piece of paper to the tablet in order to get the texture they're used to with normal sketching, maybe that would offer you some extra control.

Good luck
