"raised" paper shadow effect...

Hello everyone.

I'm sure out there there's someone who can figure my problem out. I'd like to make a paper sheet to look "raised" from the canvas, like here, or here.

I've somehow managed to do a similar thing playing with inner glows on a circular selection of another level, but it's not like the original pics...

Any ideas?

Create a new layer

Grab the marquee tool and select the area where you want the "effect" to show up.

Click D then X....Then ctrl+backspace.

Add an outer glow...make it something like #666666 w/ 75% opacity and 5px wide or so.

That will create your static outline. I wouldn't know how to create the curved effect without fiddiling around in photoshop for a while.
