I am really not into the whole My Space thing but I am curious do you thing using My Space to try and promote your main website works? (if it is so I may try )

i doubt that will work. myspace is more of a friend to friend connection. teens login to view what their friends have to say, and they comment back. then they sign out. not much after that. you could always try, no ones stopping you. you just might be wasting a whole lot of time though.

I know a few friends that use myspace and they get alot of traffic from it, or vice versa

Well theres millions of Myspace users, I highly doubt you will get millions of users onto one website (yours) so by using a myspace you can get the word around faster by using myspace, friend sees on friends page etc.. MySpace is awesome for bands, Its as simple as www.myspace.com/bandname (eg. www.myspace.com/trivium)
