Hi,

I'm a bit new to photoshop but im trying to edit this phpbb template banner and ran into a bit of a prob,I wanted to blend an image into the top banner and fade it a bit with some smoke or something that will take out the original colors of the image im blending and make it all orange kind of like this :

I know it might be a bit simple compared to other things iv seen you can do with photoshop but I cant seem to find a good tutorial for doing this.

Thanks for your help

i cant quite tell what youre looking for, but you could use the gradient tool for a simple method to blend an image in, make one side of the gradient no color and the other side black or w/e
or if you need it to be more complex you could use layer masks but its a bit more complicated
and if you want to change the color you can go to image>adjustments>hue and saturation to change the tones
i think thats what you were asking so good luck
