Apart from the logo you don't seem to have done too much design. I'm not saying that websites have to be packed with images but there isn't really much to comment on.
Also personally I don't like splash pages as they can be very annoying for users visiting your site regularly. When people type in your website name they just want to go straight to your website.

Yea, its the logo than a table it seems, try adding some images to that Navigation, or maybe move it horizontally and have drop downs, thats would make it seem better to me.

hmmm ok i will removed the splash
but the reason for the simple design and not have images at the navigator is that i like simple designs.
I don't really like complicated navigation or complicated background...

it can stay simple with images in it still 
- like using little pixel icons - im not a fan of the colour but i kinda like the visual aspects of it... nice to see someone giving credits too lol

no color, its a seems newspaper with different fonts man.
The reason I can say airtight (the site you like) works is only because of the gradient that folds into the content, giving the content an offset look. It also uses a few extra colors like in the flash presentation.
Ah, a wordpress site. Well that limits your design to 1/2 the sites on the internet now boy! Unless you get creative with WP. I am just giving honest feedback - I dont mean to hurt your feelings or anything okay

A bit bland like some others have stated. Deffinately room for improvement. Add more colours, make it more artistic. 4/10
