hello,

this was for a school project, we had to make a toy train in order to learn maya. I just really liked maya and pushed it a little further, the teacher was stunned i did this in 3 weeks time from first seeing maya

Hope you guys like it!

Yea looks pretty good. Good composition with the photo, makes it more real looking like that. Do you have any pics with the train just by itself? And some Wires?

Also you have some Edge loping issues some places. The hard metal is folding at the edges and corners, makes it look like its soft. You can especially see this in the front of the train. Also the Diamond plating on the deck of the train is the wrong size. It should be way smaller in comparison to the train. It makes the train look un-proportionate.

Also there should be a tighter highlight on the train metal material. Turn the Eccentricity down and the Specular roll off down some too. This will make it look more like Hard metal.

And another thing, i don't know if you've learn't this yet or not, but create a Spec map to go along with your color map. You put the spec map in the reflectivity channel, so black out the places where there is dirt and grime or paint. This way it wont shine like its brand new, all over.

I Don't want to come out as being mean or anything, just some suggestions for you to use in the future to better your work!

Good job man.
