Ok im in desperate need of help because nothing I do seems to fix this.

I just upgraded my comp with a new powersupply, sound card, and DVD drive, all work fine, but after I first booted back up windows has been displaying in 4bit and wont let me change it to anything else. My monitor doesnt show up in Device manager and my video card is getting a "code 12" saying it cant get enough resources. Has anyone had a problem like this or have any idea how to fix it?

Any help would be great.

Im not a very good hardware guy (<=disclaimer, after this comes the "but") but have you cheaked out that the dvd reader have its master/slave properties set correctly, i tried to install a dvd reader myself once in the past but afterwards windows wouldnt launch because both of the two i had where set to be masters. If its not that cheak the bios and see that your primary hd (the one with windows) is your primary boot drive and stuff. Also other Bios settings souch as that cpu is set to 32/64 whatever version of windows you have running (your bios settings could have been reset if you where unfortunate enough to dissconect the battery that powers them when the computer have no power during the instalation of the new hardware, its very unlikley though, you often have to short circuit some pins in combination to unhooking the battery for the bios to reset). You havnt hooked anything but your fan to a fan only power conector?

Thats all i could think about, but as i said in mo hardware guy...

I figured it out but thanks for your post. I ended up increasing the memory aperture size for my video card to 256mb in BIOS and then reinstalling all the audio drivers and it seems to have worked.

Thanks for your help though :)
