What type of design style is this picture (other than the fact that it's animated) ? Would someone be so kind as to point me to the right direction?

Oh and if there are any brushes that I can use that can make the same effect. Tutorials would be nice too! If you're wondering where I found it, it's the default Virgin Mobile screensaver for my cell phone and I was looking for art like it.

Some do use to call it vector, although it isn't the (according to me) correct term, you can always try it.

You can find many brushes in this very forum, under Free Resources > Brushes. Or just search google for, free vector brushes.

DeviantART has stacks of brushes like those to choose from.

This months "digital" magazine (or computer arts, not sure) has a full explanation of the effect. Didnt buy it so can,'t really help you :)
On the other hand they did write in there title that it was the one of the latest "hypes" in there title.
