Lol, Posted on Sun, Dec. 17, 2006 at Mercury News, but I thought I might as well put it here anyway. From what I've seen it hasn't been posted already.

Quote

Microsoft's Zune had a decent debut last month, but Apple Computer's iPods continued to dominate the MP3 market, according to new data from market research firm NPD Group released this week.

The Zune still looks alright - Do you think it's worth getting?

It doesn't surprise me that the Zune had any impact on the market. I doubt anyone even realizes that it is there. They can't complete with Apple, it is estimated that at least 30% of the American Population will own an apple product by the end of 07, or 10, something like that.. That is a lot.

I agree. And Zune didn't put enough efforts on publicity compared to Apple.

Also, the advetisement for an iPod is jsut so cool and probably most of your friends have them so it's cool to get one.

i got a cheapo shuffle just for the gym (not that i ever went the gym in the whole year or two i was a member)

a lot of people just buy an ipod for the fashion statement over other mp3 players... i cant see anyone wowing over the zune... and yea, as said above i have not seen 1 advertisment for the zune which means the only publicity they would gain would be from word of mouth which is not worth it as pretty much proven lol

the iPod seriously is limited. I like the zen vision M. i tried at least over 5 different mp3 players (iRiver, iPod, Creative Zen, Lyra, etc, etc, etc) and so far I really like the visionM. Oh year, the ARCHOS is crap haha.

I still say that I LOVE the creative Zens... I really hate saying this, but when I tried out an iPod nano with my DJ Style headphones, sound qaulity sounded as if I was wearing my $20 pair of headphones with bricks tied to them (Because the DJ Style ones are rather heavy).

However, Apple got sued over the iPod having a monopoly (Old news aswell: http://dailytech.com...spx?newsid=5525 ) with the incompatibility of music from iTunes for other MP3 Players and the incompatibility of music from other places.

One thing I must tell you when buying your first MP3 Player, stick with a company that already makes excellent soundcards. There is obvious a good logic to this, as the company would know more about making and improving soundcards better than a company that does not.

I have seen quite a few advertisements for the Zune. However, not very many. I don't even see much for the iPods anymore, because they do not need to waste money, as word of mouth is quicker than you think.

No, I don't have an Mp3 Player, but I have other things that I want to get, that come way before an MP3 Player (Like a MIDI Keyboard). I do most of my music making in Fruity Loops Studio.

Hey, I am a she, I don't think guys have pink in their sigs! (I don't like pink either, but a signature is artwork, and I think pink is fine ONLY in artwork!)

Lol, I'm sure guys would still have pink in their sigs if it was artwork! :)

Anyway, my friend has an iRiver, and it doesn't look too bad! I've also got another friend bought a new Creative Zen thingy, which I haven't seen yet but would like to.

At current I don't have an MP3 player

I feel so left out. :) I'm always behind on technology! Like I had my 400mhz (And 300mhz) PII box for atleast from 2001-2006. Until my boyfriend got me a P4 and then a week before his birthday I accidentally treated the DDR RAM as SDRAM and ended up frying that machine which then I got this one. I wouldn't have gotten this one if it wasn't for the potential he saw of the good use it would be put to. :P

But I've been wanting a Creative Zen for about two years now...
I don't even have more than 1GB of songs, but I still want the Creative Zen: Vision:M 30GB MP3 Player.
