ive been doing amatuer graphic stuff for years, including my own sigs
but lately ive noticed some cross browser problems, mainly in the form of .png's not being transparent in Internet Explorer but just fine in Firefox and Opera.

^ above is the current image, sans .png or .gif format
The neon green bg when finished will be transparent
However I don't use Adobe products due to their prices, whereas I bought a nice copy of Paint Shop Pro for a fair price. Draw back is PSP doesn't do transparent gifs well. It can make them transparent easily but when turning the image into .gif format there is a large quality loss of the image which honestly defeats the purpose OF the image if it looks like ass after conversion.
From what I've read thanks to the forum Search and google, Adobe's PS can use its Save -> Web feature to make a transparent .gif without losing alot of quality.
So if someone who uses Adobe PS make that jpg transparent BG in .gif that doesnt look like crap that would be HUGELY appreciated.
little sig help

Well that works in IE, for transparency and good quality.Any way to clean up the edges some? On a darker bg theres a slight white/gray outline around it which almost looks kinda cool like a slight bevel but there are spots where that skips off so its easy to tell its just a accidental border. (id try my hand at it but im not great at editing pixel by pixel, unstead hands).
If you can get that one working that'd be freaking fantastic. If so I've got an avatar that matches it I'd like done (if you dont mind)
