So, I'm finally getting my head into bipedal animation. The way I'm doing it now is by having each part of the body as a separate object (ie: each arm is a separate object, the head is a separate object, the legs are separate objects, etc). Does anyone else do this? Is this recommended?
Also, anyone know any import/export tools for C4D?
Thanks in advance!
Character animation - separate objects?

Whatever program bdw, it's never good to have seperate objects, cos then you'll have to pose them all seperately each frame: 30 fps, animation of let's say 4 secs --> you do the math.
Normally, but in each program it's in a different way: 1 mesh (object), you create a "bonestructure", you add/link the bonestructure to the mesh, you move the bones (which is much easier) and the skin (= mesh) will follow.
There's even a lot more to it (object must deform the right way) and it takes a lot of time to practise. It's a specialisation of some 3D artist.
So, prepare to get into battle.
