tried using macro - it rained earlier on so from the inside i shot the drops on the glass making the cloudless sky my background... the one that's a more vibrant blue was editied with ps as the gf wants some blue and white pics for in the living room lol

Second one is a lot better.
you are getting the hang of it now.
To really practise with macro, use something long, like a ruler, guitar neck etc.
Just focus on the neck of the guitar or length of the ruler and yiu will get a great effect and with a ruler you canpractice where to take the shot before it starts to blur so you can get a really great shot.

cheers for the vote of confidence hehe... hmmm... havent got a ruler i dont think, nor a guitar... sure i will find something tho haha

Your keyboard is fairly long. Or a remote control. Use your imagination. Macro, for me, is only used when I want to get an artistic focus on something. eg, Focusing on 1 object while the other objects are out of focus/blurry. Can give a very nice effect..
Search google images for "Macro shot" You will get some nice images
