i'd say this is one of the reason's why america is the fattest nation (and soon to be the dumbest as well). we're the only ones willing to go that far to play video games. what's wrong with a regular tv? and like everyone else says: actually playing sports is fun too.
That sums up a lot of what I have to say about the Wii.

Your on the border of being very racial with that comment, all countries have fat and dumb people so please don't name one nation.
Some countries don't have a lot of land left Japan is one of them, I remember when I was in far Nth Qld at a golf course the Japanese were telling us how they pay 100's of dollars just to have a game of golf in Japan they'll play anywhere as long as they can get a game, the Wii is a perfect for them I feel.
Same here in Canada (presume parts of the US as well) I cannot play golf in snow or tennis etc, the Wii is great fun.

America does have an obesity problem, however the problem cannot be attributed to playing games. Hell, I play games a lot more than I should but everyday I run at least 8 miles for track. I love tweaking my PC and that takes a lot of time, but that doesn't mean I'm fat. So, these guys love playing games together, and they can do that if they want. I wouldn't doubt that when they did this it was 10 degrees outside where they lived also. Who knows, maybe they were stuck in a Cinema with a Wii in Colorado.
