I am using google analytics to track the traffic on my website. It is saying i am getting around 20 unique hits a day. How accurate is that?

How does it keep track of what users are unique? Most people have dynamic ips. So if 1 person visits my website everyday, will that count as a unique visitor everday just because his WAN IP address has changed?

I honestly don't think my website is brining in 20 unique hits a day, so i'm just curious.
