I am alright at PHP, and have fully coded a news script for my site, but I am now looking into a downloads system/script.
I have read all the tuts here, none work on my server. I cant code one either.
I was thinking, that if i install the Remository module into Joomla, and take away the template, could I integrate it into my template.
Thanks

Try hotsripts.com. I doubt what you are talking about would work.

i'm just wondering, did you code your OWN news script, or did you follow along with a tutorial.. cause from what i remember, when i could create a complete news script, i pretty much had some good knowledge of php and a download script isn't much higher on the complexity level.

I read some tuts and learned from them, but edited them for myself, as i said, i know php pretty well, but i just can't get the hang of a d/l script.

A download system isn't really anything different from any other content system. The only difference is if the file is an image, you'd have to force the browser to download it instead of loading it into itself as it would normally do (simply look into header modifications with PHP, lots of tutorials on this). And then a click counter would probably be another thing to include in it.
In all its not difficult if you don't let it be.
