Busy little sucker ain't she LOL
I think that the text needs to be a little lighter.. seems a little dark and hard to read.

Sorry, Jabberthenut, but I'm not and never have been a huge fan of the 4 columned layout. I think it's trying to cram too much content into one small screen, it just makes the main content less noticeable and you find yourself searching for the main content- if your a first time user to that site. Get rid of a column and it will be a lot better. I also think it should be a bit lighter as again, I'm not a huge fan of dark layouts like that.

When posting previews of web layouts (and mocks in general), I always think it's good to include some text (i.e Loreum Ipsum) So it gives you and us an idea of how text will look and how the user will consume that text which we can then feedback to you on. Remember, the content is the most important thing in a web layout.

Aside from those few points, I think it's quite good, but cannot really critique on it much more. If you wish, repost it with some sample text etc. and then I'll give you some more feedback if you want me to.

Hope you take my advice into consideration,
ChrisGilmore

Actually, the 4 columns will not be shown all at once.

Those are just the columns i am using over several pages.

"Sub-nav" and "featured" are not on the main page, thats just all that i need.

Improvements you need to make:

- The size of it... 983 is kinda big, think about the smaller resolution guys that will be scrolling across that screen like hell just to read upon what they want.

- Text... bad text, change it. For that type of layout, something techy could be nice.

And that copyright box is too big.

And as for the lorem ipsum text. You should add some. Head over to lipsum.com and create a couple of paragraphs to place in the template so we get the idea of what the text would look like.

Not too bad for first try though.

the dummy text looks good. easy to read.

but... the other text (banner, menus and sub-sections) need a different font. and take off the (pillow emboss?) - leave the text a plain colour. Trust me, it'll do better on the eyes for everyone.

Still... the size though (It doesn't bother me, since i'm on a wide screen. But as I said, think about the little ones ;)

Better, much better. The headers/button text is still hard to read as has already been stated.

Keep up the good work :P
