Hey guys,

Im fairly new to Flash, working with MAC OSX and Flash 8.

I have my preloader working in Flash. I can test the movie and it loads all my JPEG's properly and works beautifully. I imported it into Dreamweaver to prepare the rest of the layout, and the pictures arent displayed at all. Im not sure if i have them saved as progressive JPEG's or not. Im not even sure where to determine that. I have my SWF saved in a folder called "Gallery" and my photos are located in a folder called "images" inside of the "gallery" folder. Could this be my problem or is there something else i did wrong?

Im not totally sure what it is that youre doing here. You're bringing the swf into dreamweaver? Make sure the path to your swf is correct, and make sure the path to the images in your swf are right as well.

If youre trying to see the swf in the preview mode (or design mode...whatever its called) of dreamweaver, I dont think that will work (never tried, but I doubt it will). I would assume you'd need to publish your files to see it work.

ok i have my loader contentpath set to images/pic1.jpg in Flash and everything loads up properly. My SWF is saved in my "Gallery" folder next to my images folder not inside it. The images however are inside of the images folder. Once i import this SWF file into Dreamweaver, the images will not appear in the loader. Does the SWF have to be saved into the same folder as the images for it to work outside of Flash?

I figured it didnt make a difference as long as the path was set correctly.

AND should i not import to Dreamweaver? What would be another good method of uploading my files to my web server then? and how would i upload my SWF file?

ok, I think I may know what the problem is...
What is the location of the html page that the swf is played in? Your swf will inherit the location of the html document that it is played in.

Are you just using dreamweaver to upload? You can use an ftp program, but if you find dreamweaver easiest to use for your uploading, thats fine too.

The HTML that is created when i publish the SWF is located right next to the SWF itself, in my "Gallery" folder. Instead of creating a new Dreamweaver document should i just open the HTML doc that FLash creates?

What would be a good ftp program to use? I figured that thats why they put Dreamweaver into the Studio package is so you could import your files there, then upload to your server using Dreamweaver. If this is not the most effiecient way, then please tell me!! Hehe i wont use it if its going to cause me not needed work.

For my ftp stuff, I like FileZilla. Its free, and works :)

You can take the embed and object tags out of the html doc flash gives you and paste it into your dreamweaver layout if you like. In IE youll have to click to start the flash tho.
