It appears that CorelDraw 12 will install on Vista (at least on my premium edition) but the sp service pack will not install. It gets and error that the installer was interrupted. After looking on the Corel website they state they will not support CorelDraw 12. For me, CorelDraw12 without the SP crashes a lot and really needs the service pack.
I wanted a work around so I took the Corel folder from a my computer running XP that has the Service Pack installed on it (near 300mb) and drug it over to the new Vista computer. Renamed the newly installed corel folder on Vista to "oldcorel" and replaced it with the one from XP. When I ran CorelDraw 12 it asked me for the install cd which I gave it. After that the program came up. I went into help about and it shows that it has the service pack on it. I am not making any promises there could be more problems but I ran Photopaint and did some extensive testing and everything seems to work right with no crashing the application. Hope this helps anyone who is getting a new faster computer with Vista as I did that wants to run CorelDraw 12. Post here if you have any problems.
As a photographer I have been using Corel Photopaint for a while with Pixmantecs RawShooter Essentials 2006 (a free program off of their website) Adobe has bought this company and the product will no longer be supported. Moving to X3 will be a move to a camera raw editor that is no longer supported. It makes sense to me to continue to run CorelDraw 12 until Corel comes up with a better solution for raw editing. Until then, I hope this work around works for you.

Thanks for the tip, that's really weird. I am running Corel 12 with all SPs installed, THEN I upgraded to Vista and all is well. Hopefully I won't have to re-install any time soon
