I'm struggling ;) on which program to buy as for a 3D Animation Software, and for 3D Modeling usage. Also I have a iMac 10.3 (Panther) also any programs for Apple computers that'd be great. But anyways, give me some ideas what you believe I should get, before I screw up doing my dump decisions :P.

First, I know there are these following program(s):
  • 3D Studio Max
  • Maya 3D

There is a heap more for PC (not sure about Mac). Maya seems to be the most popular and has some really nice features (it's layers comes to mind here awesome), but me personally I prefer Max.

Interesting, well anyone else? But is there an exact version of Mac OS X. I believe there's one out there, soon to be mines :P. Alright then, if there's anymore people who'd like to reply you can why not. I'm still struggling, because I heard that Apple's Macs are best for Graphic Work through out studies :P.

you might find this interesting.

as for macs being best for graphics, thats a bit of a sweeping statement imo, as it heavily depends what specs your machine is. were thinking about buying a boxx workstation here that runs on windows x64, and im yet to come across a mac more powerful than this beast (although if anyone does please tell me as id be interested in checking them out).

Carrara, Hexagon combination is all i need for modeling.

It depends heavily on what your planning to do with it... ?
