I read recently that if you use google ad sense, your search listing is ranked higher than if you don't.
I run a professional service on my website and I really don't want to use advertising, but I am taking every advantage I can get.

Does anyone know anything about this whole "ad sense" conspiracy and any suggestions on how to incorporate it into a site without blaring ADVERTISING. (my site has it but I think i worked it in ok)

I think you mean AdSense. AdWords is when you pay to have your ad in Google's SERPs or other people's pages. AdSense is when you're the one displaying ads on your page.

And no, having AdSense on your pages doesn't affect your ranks.
