and again... I think you should create your own theme for WordPress instead of using the downloaded one.

Using a downloaded one doesn't really show much about yourself.

It's nice blog :), you may want to change the header, do soemthing personal with it, and turn smaller the "Tags" section in the sidebar

@nitr0x: not all can create their own themes.

I can't really leave feedback if its not you're own work..

It's a nice theme.. But it's not your work if you understand what I mean..

Nice icon packs though, did you create those? o.o

Yes but you can't really comment if it's not their own work. There are plenty of tutorials around on how to create themes for wordpress.

Yes you can. "Web 2.0" Is more about content than design, which is why design has been so simplified compared to the past web trends. Its purpose is to emphasize your content. So comment on the content.

This is for "Site showoff and feedback", not "web design and layout showoff and feedback".

And tutorials or not, creating a decent WP theme takes a huge amount of work. I spent about 30 hours creating the one for my upcoming website, its just a simple layout, and I'm not new to coding or css. I can only imagine the difficulty it would cause someone who doesn't have some idea of what they are doing.

web2.0 is about the design, content, interactivity and ease of use of a site, not just content over design. Everything is relevant.

Why cant ye just say I like it or not geesh...

Its a bit 2 light for me but if you like yer site then who am I 2 judge :)

:) And if ya'll are so stuck on if its his or her own design... whats up with all the sigs i c people display here on P2L, I think 80 % of all use images that r not their own design... plus the fact i guess most of those sigs r not allowed cause of those images used have copyrights on them...

IMO, the design factor is about having a design that wont take away from the content. A nice design might get you a couple high-fives, or kudos or whatever from people, but people actually come back and use your website for the content. Because of that fact, web designs are focusing on emphasizing the content.

It is the content that makes a website it's money, or gives it any value to anyone.

I can't ever remembering saying that content isn't important... when did I say that? It's about everything, content, design, interactivity, ease of use, etc. is all important on a same level. The first thing that people do, is look see the design and they judge how good the site will be. It's a fact, it's been known for years that that is what 90% of people do.

That is what I had a problem with. You focused totally on the design aspect there. There is plenty to comment on, unless all of the content was lifted from other websites.

Web designers seem get hung up on design, because its what they do. The only real value in the design is the first impact, and the way it shows off the content. After that, its solely the content that keeps people coming back.

<hypocrisy>I think that content should be commented on more often on these forums. And I mean more than just a "Youve got some good stuff in your portfolio man"</hypocrisy>

Yes, I know I am one who pretty much only comments on design too.

one thing... I'm not a web designer  I'm a web programmer, but I still believe in making your own designs. So really, content for me is more important since I am a programmer, not a designer. But I still think that designs must look good as well as the content.

Anyway, I'm done with this small argument.
