How do you take screenshots to make tutorials?

Press and hold the "Alt" and "Print Screen" keys.
Then open up any application and then go to the menu Edit>Paste.
You then have your image, just save it as you wish.

If you are on a Mac (for those who want to know). You can do screen caps in 2 ways.
command + shift + 3 = full screen capture.
command + shift + 4 = selective screen capture. Gives a cross hair where you can click and drag over the area you want to capture.

You can set most graphcis applications (come on, even Paint Shop Pro does it
) to "hotkey" so when you hit that key it takes a screenshot and pastes it into the program. Generally though, hitting print screen and then CTRL-Ving into a editor works, even paint will do.

Theres an official programm for the official hotkey, dont you guys know snagit8 tech? search for it on google and its really the best and have more features not only pressing the hotkey and we have to resize it no, its really better.

If you throw in the Control key in the shortcut, it takes the screenshot to the clipboard, instead of making a new file on the desktop.
