There is a link on the front of p2l for totalvid.com and I have watched a number of these and I have got to say they are horrid videos. The audio is so amature, I mean you hear mic movements and mouse clicks and even worse BREATHING!
They are drawn out and too long winded. You cannot scrub forward.
The ones with no audio (that is a blessing) are so fast I have no clue how anyone would learn anything from them.

I think the owners of that site need to go back to the drawing board and rethink these videos if they are the back bone of their site.

I fully agree with you, most have been taken from youtube and other sources that I saw, I seriously dunno how anyone can learn from those I can barely see what's being done. But they're a paying advertiser to this website so it's upto Dan and he accepted them and they remain.

Wow, ha....OK lets try not to turn this into a harsh bashing thrad but i just found a tutorial telling me how to end "explorer.exe"...I mean...

1) Windows does this one its own very well :angrylooking:
2) Why!? It's lebbeled as a "prank" to "freak people out", but if they're a bit nerdy they'll just restart the process and punch you*, and if they're not so much they'll restart the computer...and then punch you*.

*And then punch yourself for being such a...well, nerd.

That is a boy?! OMFGZZ ROFL!

that was needed :)

No offense but these videos pretty much suck.. I found better ones on YouTube..

Maybe they should start again with only a select few authors who use proper microphones etc.

This has to be my favourite though..

S0ULJA, That one is so much crap.. and the copyright infringements on that one vid. I counted no less than 8.
Title music.. those image logos and that crap music playing when someone could be talking rather than typing.
That site might as well just close down. They give video tutorials a bad name.

Just an FYI guys, ppl upload their vids to the site, it's not their videos... it's like youtube, but for tutorials. If you don't like them, you guys should *politely* leave feedback either with the video makers, or write to the site owners directly. Nothing will improve if you just complain here :angrylooking:

Also, if you watch these tutorials, click on the enlarge icon so you can actually see what they are clicking on.

I didn't start this thread as a moan or bitch.. just want to see if others thought the same as me.

Well I think anyone can send whatever like they do on youtube,a nd it relies on voting and views to achieve ppopularity. Not really sure but I think voicing your opinions to them directly would probably be a good thing :angrylooking: They want to be popular for tutorials, not poop

Ok I just put this onto their contact form. Let's see if they answer ah. No answer means no care I guess.

Ok I have got to say that MANY of the videos on here are pretty pathetic.
If you want to gain a good rep on video tutorials I think that some standards should be set down. I have watched a number of these and many are too fast and show nothing and the ones I have heard with sound.. oh my god! Let's just say I wish they never had sound. You also have many braking the law with copyright infringements, with music and logos. Be ashame for you to carry the can for someone else that does not care.
From one that does professional video tutorials I think you should lay down some standards or your site is going to be the laughing stock on the net. From the people I have talked to so far, it seems that is what is happening

You keep saying that throughout a few of your posts... but I've never heard of the term before :angrylooking: What in the world is it? lol Please make sliced cheese? People may speak loud?

By the way: I think your letter may be a bit intrusive

I've also emailed them

Hello, my name is Tom Hall.

I have viewed a few videos that have been uploaded onto this website and must admit I've been quite happy with 90% of the videos.

But my main concern is that some videos are hard to hear and hard to follow. A few friends of mine have encountered the same problem and it is very confusing as the tutorials are the ones we need but we cannot follow them as we either cannot hear them clearly or follow them clearly.

Im aware that these videos are uploaded by users similar to Youtube and Google Video, but I think some video tutorials need more reviewing before posting them onto the main site (That is if you have a tutorial system that works like that)

I don't want to be intrusive or tell you how to run your website, but take it as a friendly heads up.

Thankyou for reading and I don't wish to offend you or your staff with this email.

Kind regards,

Thomas Hall

I've been a little light on them if I may say so myself :angrylooking:
