We all know theres a bunch of other sites that copied youtube, but which one is really the best?
I think stage6 is the best. Everything is highest quality. The screensize is big, and they even have a desktop dimmer so everything dims except the movie, including start menu and stuff :o
Youtube is no good anymore, except to watch all the drama :whoosh[1]:

I heard somewhere that about 30% of the US bandwith used is Youtube. Youtube may not be the most qualitative video comunity but its most certanly the most quantitative. I go to youtube, i find what im looking for.

But I think thats only because it was the first. They need to step it up and allow higher quality vids and bigger screens etc. Plus their servers lag with comments/views...ever seen those annoying vids that are like

OMG MORE RATINGS THEN VIEWS WHATS GOING ON?

:angrylooking: It's called server lag

Making online video websites are so over rated now days that it is almost impossible to become popular with the sites such as Google Video plus Youtube, MySpace, possibly but not so much Break.com.

if anyone plans on making a video sharing site is just crazy, an expensive investment that will only end in tears when you realise you were beaten by YouTube from the start.

Im pretty sure YouTube have some things in the pipeline.

Can someone clear something up though.. If google have taken over Youtube, how comes their search system still sucks?! You spell a word wrong, for instance I wanted to search Foo Fighters and i typed "Foo Fighjters" It says "Sorry no matches" Why dont google plant their script that gives you words that ar similar so it says "Did you mean Foo Fighters?"

Thats one thing I hate about YouTube.. Maybe I should brush up on my touch typing but I shouldn't have to god damn it! lol.

End of rant.

The big diff in all these sites is Youtube and myspace are all over TV and the news, they don't have to worry about advertising the media and others do it freely for them, they'll be around for years and the little ones will fade away.

Screw with Microsoft and Google and copy them your going to get sued from every angle and your site shut down, someone came here the other day and posted a complete replica site of myspace, that didn't last long lol.

Youtube sucks for comments they really need to clean the site up.

How do you mean? I don't see much change in the daily content. If anything it's become better.

Google are greedy and jealous :g[1]:

If somethings bigger than them they will out buy them.

Money is no object to them..

Also, google video will stay up, why get rid of it if it brings money to them?

I kinda like.. iFilm.. and umm, what's it called, OH, and break.com. I-Am-Bored.com is good too I guess. But, we all know they are copies or "look a likes" of YouTube, right. And I remember.. the DAY when I heard the definition, web 2.0. It was weird to me, because at first I didn't catch on and get what "Web 2.0" was. At first I thought it was a site.. so I went looking for a site itself, called web 2.0. But then I began to catch on what web 2.0 actually was. It was a new, "click", if you will of styles, typography, and graphics that is and has come to the internet. So, I thought, hey this is really cool! So then I began to discover del.icio.us.. and then.. digg.com and those web 2.0 like sites. And I thought they were really fun. But then after awhile, I began to realize.. they are all.. pretty much the same.. ya know? It actually got kind of boring to me after awhile.. because.. I began to realize.. that all of those particular sites.. are just.. the same, in a lot of ways.

But, that is my thoughts on these "kinda" of sites. ;) :D

But I agree, YouTube is not the greatest, and definatly not the "safest" site of them all, either. Just like MySpace.. everyone began to catch on... ;). But, thanks for posting this, really interesting to read other people's thoughts and opinions on this!

NEW YORK - NBC Universal and News Corp. joined forces Thursday with several major Internet companies to distribute TV shows, video clips and movies online in an effort to better control their programming and counter competition from YouTube.

Now, that will own Youtube. You'll have the ability to watch shows and movies for FREE! That'll be awesome in Iraq.

From what I've found so far, I would say for live video try: StickAm.com and if you want a clone of youtube try LiveVideo.com.

But the shear volume that YouTube recieves makes it #1.

I always wondered this. How do sites that don't have a free (like myspace, youtube, google) how do they make their profit? People say that "tom" from myspace is filthy rich. How do you make money from something that doesn't charge ya heh..

sorry for the stupid question. Just always wondered this.
