clip in cs2

in ps8 when i would do a gradiant then clip it to the lower layer, i would have the gradiant layer selected then ctrl click on the (lets say) the text layer below then select - inverse -delete.


how do i do this in ps cs2? when i do this now it dosnt work

figured it out, its now the alt key.

Not sure i understand what you mean:
do you mean in your example you would end up with a text fading away to nothing?

I think I know what you mean, zoom4267. Is it where you could Ctrl+Click the layer you want to select? If it is, I don't know where it went, either. On CS2 I could not find an option like this as well. I know on Adobe Photoshop CS you could. It was a very nifty feature.

Brandonator: what your talking bout is still there, only this time you have to ctrl+click on the thumbnail of the layer, instead of clicking on the layer.
