I want to develope new camo patterns for my clothing line made in China. Top patterns like Mossy Oak, Realtree, etc will not license to me because of piracy concerns in China, so I will develope my own. I would like recommendations on software best for this project. I need to create depth, shadows, and composites, and be able to be seemless and blow up the finished composite to life size and still hold the sharpness. Any help or info will be and is greatly appreciated

Hey, welcome to P2L! I hope you learn more for your camo pattern designs. And I have a few ideas of Software you could use,.. first one being Adobe InDesign. Adobe InDesign is the total way to go for designing pattens and just, well--digital art if helpful. Although, I haven't used Adobe InDesign, I looked at it and it looks like a good program for designing things in. And you'll need the help of course, from Photoshop. Which is ultimatly what you'll use for the actual drawing, and designing part. As for InDesign will just be for adding final touches and resizing images and creating text and such.. but, Photoshop will be the big one you'll probably need to design the actual patterns. :wtf:

You can also check out the Adobe website, for more info. on these programs:

I hope I helped, and welcome again to Pixel2Life Forums! :D

Err Brandonador, Indesign isnt for any design work on images, It's a graphics setting program like QuarkExpress. You use it to combine text and images for professional print, or press. I havnt used it indeaph (about20 hours) but iv never heard anything about it beeing used to make patterns or anything at all just composing adds, newspapers and books.

Oh and hi Rick, If you want to create patterns that you can blow up seamless you need to use a vectorbased application like adobe illustrator.
