Hi I have a simple <div style="overflow:auto; height:500px; padding-right:5px; width:540px"> job on my website but what I then did was place a bar image the same colour of the background over the movable bar so only the arrows showed. Then I placed my own small arrow images over the existing ones. You can't click on the arrows now though so what I need is either a way to make those images sort of transparent so you can click on what's underneath them or a way to let clicking an image control how text scrolls in the text box.

Are you looking to color the scrollbar and arrows? If that's the case I have a tutorial for that. If you're looking to create a custom content scroller I think you're looking for some DHTML and javascript. Check out Dynamic Drive.

Changing the arrow and face colour to match my scheme was enough, thanks.
