Okay, here's my dilemma. I'm finally breaking down and building a site for my graphic design company. I don't build web site, I couldn't even code my way out of a wet paper bag. I mainly create logos, graphics for sites, etc. Okay, so there's the history, so here's my problem. I've built the header to my site, but I don't which version of it to use. Here's samples of both versions.

I really like the flames, but it takes up so much room at the top and leaves a lot of negative space there. Basically, what I'm asking is, should I go with the flames or just leave them out or possibly just start over again with a different concept?

The flames might work if the website is centered and positioned in the middle of the page. I like it! Keep up the good work!

I agree. Another option, if the empty space on the sides still bugs you, would be to create some kind of unobtrusive graphic/collage behind the flames that extends the length of the header. Just an idea, but it looks fine without it.

Thanks for the help, everyone. I believe I'll use the first one. I'll post the finished version when I complete it.

Neither if im quite frank.. Cant really read the text and theyre both oversized and low quality images.

But The one without flames would be the one if I had to choose.

If layout is going to be centered, I would say first choice would look better. If you are planning on putting something above header I would go with second choice.
