I have noticed that after importing a 48-bit image into Coreldraw and doing some work, it is not possible to export the image back to Photopaint keeping the 48-bit color depth. Is this an unfortunate limitation of the Corel 12 suite or is there a way of doing it?

Damn... wish I could help you but I've never worked in 48 bit color in CDR :/ I'm usually in Photopaint exclusively and very rarely dabble on the other side of the suite :( Sorry I can't help you... have you dug around on google?
