my time to rant!

Hosting

it seems like any kid with a damn computer and a bit of space is creating a god damn hosting site and providing hosting. Even if its little or great support its annoying seeing 1000 hosting sites popup a day, its like graphic sites. they keep coming n going and only the good ones with mature and hosts that actually talk to their costumers and know what they are doing last. and then everyone saying unlimited hosting is impossible, not true. you can have unlimited hosting, its called unmetered, meaning you have no limit of space unless the server is at max capacity or full. and EVEN IF YOU DO have unlimted space on your plan no way you could max at the server unless its acheap ass server, i got 1 gb space 40 gb b/w and i aint even up to 1000mb yet wit all my sigs n shit uploaded so theres no way i am going to get to 1 gb of space.

GFX Sites

any damn twit wit photoshop thinks he is good and can create a site, they think oh i got photoshop i am so cool im going to make another gfx site. WE DONT WANT OR NEED ANOTHER GFX SITE you want to create a site, create a portfolio, thats still a site but shows your work and not flipping another stupid community with a cheap template and a free invisionfree board (no offense to original c-t tongue.gif). and its annoying seeing 2million gfx sites come up a day all expecting to be the best and shit :\

You cant have unmetered space, if you go in look under the TOS of the host thats offering Unlimited space or Bandwidth, you'll see that if you use too much they'll delete your account. Some reliable server hosts do offer Unmetered bandwidth on their servers but otherwise stay away from anything with the "unlimited" in front of it.

You can usually tell if a GFX site is going to be good or not, and like you said their have been very few of those....I honestly dont care if alot of newbs are putting up sites because i know they wont last a month :)

I have problems with them.
It seems like when you've done a tutorial they just advanced and then suddenly BAM! they got Cinema 4D. Oh hell, now they can make awesome Matrix Extrude renders...
Bah!
A good gfx site should be there over one months and have a real domain. Not just lolgrafixxxx.tk or supahmegagfxzzzzzzzzzz.net.

If the host gave u the unmetered space why would it be against there TOS, and delete your account.. dumbass realize your just talking jiberish, if a host offeres you a full unmetered package they have to give it to you or be sued.

And yet many of them do that. Go to a site offering unmetered bandwidth or space and read there TOS. Ive been with many hosts, even worked with a hosting company, this stuff happens all the time.

edit: This is what ive seen and experienced......their may be a very few out their who actually will give you unlimited space/bandwidth but the majority will turn out to be oversellers or your account will be suspended/canceled when you use up to much of their precious server space.

You can actually have unlimited/unmetered bandwidth. However umetered space combined with unmetered bandwidth is something you shouldn't trust.

Hey .regress, it is time to chill out. Don't go around calling a member a dumbass, that is just rude. You say he is talking jibberish, I think you should start looking at yourself.

You are sick of all these graphics sites? Then why in the hell did you go and make one yourself? Why not take your own advice and put a portfolio up.

And don't think you are all that because you have graphics knowledge either. By looking at your sig, it honestly tells me you suck. Considering the crown is a custom chape in PS, and all you really did was take a few shapes and colors, threw some gradients on them, and wham you made a sig.

Aswell, you whine about these people making hosts, don't complain about services you haven't seen. You say there are thousands of kids making hosts, I doubt that. And if they do have a host, WHO CARES. They are trying to be in the business world too, let the kid have a chance before you start whining.

Think about what you say before you post it, because honestly, all the shit you just posted was jibberish and self-opinionated crap.

in my experience in the 10 or 15 hosts i've been with over my time, i've learnt to basically not go with a host unless:
- i know i can talk to them
- that they will reply the same day, no matter what kinda question it is
- they know about servers, inside and out, not just a 14 year old who bought one from a reseller
- have some form of personality to them, not just robots
- i know i can leave my site knowing that the company isn't going to go bust
- they have a quality website

if i'm picky, its because i have to be, too many mistakes, too many upsets, too much lost money, therefore i choose wisely

and yes, serverseed is my host, but no, ty didn't pay me to say all that

where is my site? erm oh thats right, i dont got one :)

i have a portfolio, but not a gfx site, if you mean clantemplates, look at the members :12k, posts and stuff, thats a successful site thats been around for years, and i am sig staff not owner or admin.

and the crown in my sig isnt custom ps shape, its custom by me, i got all the layers n wires to prove it ;) and didnt say i was all that at ps but here look n tell me that im all that bad.

http://regress.h3ox.net/sigs/
http://regress.h3ox.net/temps/

and this isnt whining, its bitching about all these kids who are wasting peoples time n money by false advertising, false delivering, etc...

and one last thing, look at my member number. and look at yours, i notice almost 2500+ difference, so i've been around long enough to know what im talking about. ty though for trying to prove me wrong

have a nice day :)

I dont care what sites you have or dont have, I found a graphics forum in your profile.

Clantemplates isn't yours? Really, then why are you bragging about it? I don't care about there stats, I care about you.

How the hell old are you? Just to let you know, I am 14, and I took that whole first post very offensively. I had a host of over 400 accounts, and sold it for 5 grand. The host was free hosting too.

The crown looks like a distorted crown from the PS custom shapes, you need to admit it.

And its not the kids fault that the "peoples" fell into the wrong hands, its actually the "peoples".

Member number means nothing, just because I didn't have time to join THIS FORUM means nothing. I have known Dan for a little while know, and I have been working with Spoono for some time now. Who cares about time and registration numbers, I have been designing since I was 9, I know what I am talking about.

The point of my post was to show you exactly what you were posting about. And the fact that you called C115 a dumbass for voicing an opinion is just wrong. How would you feel if I saw you tell someone you liked cookies and called you an asshole because I like brownies.

Its just opinions and you just needed to chill. I was cool with the post and partly agreed until you called C115 a dumbass.

bragging? thats not bragging. its advertising, and the owner is a mate i known for years. and you say you had this and that, but no proof once so ever, and in PS there is no custom crown shape for PS 7 so unless ur on CS with it or downloaded it you smoking crack, as far as you knowing Dan, want a cookie? does it look like i care who you work for, with your age and what you said in ur 2 posts in here it shows just how immature you are. and how annoying your gonna be around here

watch it kid. i dont care if you know dan in real life, your still nothing to me and just a prick in my foot.

I was just saying what you were saying regress, you were showing how you work for clantemplates, i was showing how I work for Spoono. I was trying to prove that in the long run it means nothing.

And C115 I don't care if you were offended by it or not, it was wrong. Calling you a dumbass for showing your opinion is not right.

Regress, if you don't care about my age then why do you care about the age of the webhosting owners?
