Hey all, basically what I am trying to do is find some greyscale logos but I am not sure what they are really called, where to look for them or how to make them.

They are logos of websites/services such as Pixel2Life, deviantART, flickr and so on, but in grey. They are often used on websites with dark colour schemes; when you hover over them they turn a lighter grey, you can click them to view the profile of someone on the website of the logo you selected (so mostly used on the sidebar of blogs/portfolios).

If you understand what I mean and have seen them used somewhere or know how I could make them, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

You could always just cut the logo out of the banner, and then paste it in Photoshop and hit ctrl+shift+U to desaturate.

Thanks for the reply, but I tryed to do that and I found it extremely difficult and time consuming. I woud like to find some that I can use or find a tutorial to help me do it.

Do you have a visual example of what you're trying to achieve? That would help.

I guess you would have to either do it by hand, or cut it out as said above. Or you could ask the owner of the site to make it. Either way, If what you want to do is hard, why not take it upon yourself to complete the challenge? All it can do is make you better.

Aha, so i guess your not after the exact same design (since there copywrited anyway, so unless its a direct link to their website, you cant use them for anything else), but rather its the effect you want?
Am i right ?
