1) Open regedit
2) Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
3) Scroll down until you see classes starting with "QTO"
4) Click on QTOControl.QTControl. You'll get an error message saying you don't have permission. So lets give us permission.
5) Right-click on the entry, Set Permissions, then click Advanced, then in the Owner tab, select Administrators and Apply
6) Close the Advanced window and the Set Permissions window. Then open the Set Permissions Window again.
7) Click "Add...", type in the last textbox: "Administrators" and click OK.
8) Be sure Administrators is selected, and check Full Control in the choices below.
9) Apply and OK
10) If the entry is a folder, Add "Administrators" to Set Permissions to the sub-entries as well. (You might need to define the Owner first as well)
Repeat for:
QTOControl.QTControl1
QTOLibrary.QTUtils
QTOLibrary.QTUtils1
QuickTime.QuickTime
QuickTime.QuickTime5
QuickTimePlayerAddition
Should work!

I've installed the new security patch for Quick Time.. and of course as usual, it stopped working telling me:
Error 46: Could not load or find the QuickTime ActiveX control
Any idea how to fix this piece of cr**?
Dude, like you said, Quicktime (as well as iTunes) are the biggest pieces of cr** possible on a pc (apart from malware itself). Just uninstall Quicktime and install Quicktime Alternative, its the same codec, but a much better program, it even supports In-Browser support, so its the perfect replacement.
Heres the Wikipedia Link: http://en.wikipedia....ime_Alternative
Heres they're homepage: http://codecguide.com/about_qt.htm
