to be perfectly honest though, although i know it's a work in progress, i find it quite boring. i dont mean the text format, that doesnt bother me at all, but on a whole the newsletter just seems to lacking anything that could be considered 'interesting' to me. only exception being possibly the ask dan section... which incidentally has so far only covered two questions which were already asked and answered extensively in the forums here, rendering it slightly pointless to me personally though i know that is not the case for all. the top five tutorials doesnt do it for me either, although theyre good tutorials... surely if we wanted to find out how to do something then we would search the database for it, but heh i guess that last point is debatable too, depending on how you do things.
i know you have a purpose for this newsletter, but i still cant help but feel that this should be based mroe around the graphics/web design community as a whole rather than just p2l, with reviews and interviews - the whole lot. even making it a monthly thing that people will enjoy reading and look forward too, rather than a 2 minute skim read once a week. hopefully you will be implementing alot of the idea from this whole thread in the near future.
anyways, sorry if this seems a bit brutal and premature. but im not one to hold back my thoughts so im just calling it as i see it.

I read it this afternoon and it was excellent.
I was expecting some sort of graphics. A design. The whole PLAIN TEXT thing shocked me, actually. I've never seen something P2L be all text.
Is there anything planned in the future for a graphical newsletter?
Those were exactly my thoughts... I expected a html formatted email that resembled P2L, would be great to see something like that in the future. I see what everyone is saying about why its text based and stuff but it just doesn't seem P2L... an option to receive either html format or text would be the best solution.

Then i opened the newsletter and Faken's kicking it 1995 style with ***** and >>>>
i was just like "awesomeeee" lol.
At the bare minimum need to be able to click up top on the index and zip down to whichever you're wanting to read like other have said, and atleast some ASCII art lol. like a decently sized (500x250) P2L made out of dots and commas.

Although a lot of newsletters are in HTML, I think what you guys should do it to put it on HTML and just make a link: If you can't see this properly click here and people would then be able to see it in text format while people who want text have it
How about that

I'm pretty sure people on this forum are up with current email clients, and thus about 90% of the recipients would have html supporting emails. Just a semi-educated guess.
The newsletter is available to every visitor that visits Pixel2life and subscribes, so it's not just forum members receiving it.

Yeah but his point is that it wouldn't hurt to add some html into it
