I am using 3d studio max, and I am wondering, becuase i am interested in putting 3d objects in to real life recorded video, if it is possible to... hard to explain.

Can I put a dummy object in the scene that the camera wont render but it will hide all the geometry behind it. Say like i have a static picture of a building and i want a ufo to fly between the building and the camera, my way of thinking and understanding is that i need to create a fake building. Is there a better way? or how do i make this fake building (just a usual box) not render but still hide geometry behind it?

thanks.
