I wonder if the big one would increase productivity enough to warrant dropping $2500 on it.

yes it does. we have one at work for our ilustrator, the massive 21" screen, it saves him having to sketch things out on paper, then scan them in just to add colours and webify it, he is able to draw it all on there easily.

if your a ilustrator, and making a fair bit, its well worth it.

I have a tablet. Had some fun with it for a couple of days when I first bought it, but now I hardly ever use it anymore.
It's fun for a little while, but you don't really need it. I can imagine a pro-illustrator can't live without one tho..

I've been looking into getting one of these, as well.

I'm sure I'd use it for more than a couple of days though.

Av-, can I have yours? ;)

Considering you live on the other side of the globe, it would probably be cheaper to buy a new one than paying the shipping costs ;)

I have a basic tablet and to be honest was disappointed by it, I am sure the more you pay the better they become but I thoguht my results would have been a bit better, everything seemed to pixelate. Is that normal?

Wacom deffinently are a good company to buy from though.

I like the big ones as with those they are like a monitor, and PS and AI load onto them, then it is like having the programs on paper.. out with the trusty pen and no paper scanning problems to worry about.
I think I could warrant the cost also as I seem to be doing more custom graphics and logos and that would make the job so much easier and faster.
I am pretty good at drawing on paper.. so on a Wacom like that limitations are endless. Way cool!

The feeling of drawing on paper doesnt translate to neither the cintiq or intuos, its a realy different feel. Not that you cannot get the aproxomate same results having the wacom hardware emulate paper and pen with say painter or PS but it realy isnt quite the same. Have a intuos and iv tried a cintiq in a akihabara electronics store. Im not saying that i dont want one its just that digital and manual doesnt quite compare, yet.

I think it would be just a matter of getting use to them. Once that has been done I think they would be good.

All geek toys of any worth Cam are expensive. But hey.. imagine the fun you could have with it. Also once you get use to it all the cool shit you could poor out of PS and AI! Compared to that the price is nothing. ah.
