:lol:
hi...
i currently have a pc system made of Intel ATX E6400 CORE 2 DUO /2.13GHz/2MB. 1 gb ram and 512 radon G-card.
now th photoshop project file i got are more or less ~ 200 mb or more.
it takes approximately 3 to 4 to open a file, and 7 min to save one.

If I replace the processor with Intel CORE 2 EXTREME QX6700/2.66Ghz/2x4MB/1066FSB/LGA775/QUAD CORE and add 1 more gig of ram , does this improve the performance of my pc?!!!

has anyone got Intel CORE 2 EXTREME QX6700/2.66Ghz/2x4MB/1066FSB/LGA775/QUAD CORE.
I know mac's use the same processor..

thanks

more gig --> faster opening,
but the quad will only speed rendering --> everything that is very processor intensive like f.ex. if you use many of the filters oin your image.

rule of thumb: amount gig available must approx be 4x (if i remember well) the filesize.

make sure you have a big partition available for your primary scratch disk or this will become your bottleneck.
